Jed and I have always made it very clear to our boys that their education does come first. We have expected them to do the best of their ability for both of them this is caring a 4.0. They have both work very hard to keep this up there has been a few bumps in the road but they always knew what was expected. Branson has carried a 4.0 in junior high this year and has worked very hard. Kaleb has been able to carry a strong 4.0 all throught his high school career. This is a very hard thing to do. But it does pay pay off he recieved the Academic Allstate award (this is only awarded to seniors). Only 10 boys received this award in 4.0. The average gpa for these boys was 3.9. Kaleb was the only boy in the finals.

I have always felt that friends will come and go in your life but your family will ALWAYS be there for you. I love my family more that anything. Wreslting is a very hard sport to come and support, not like a football game or baseball when you come and watch for couple hours and its over. Well wreslting is a all day thing. Long long days of hard bleachers then a few minute for a match then hours of waiting for the next match. Well I cant even start to tell my parents and my mother in law, how much it meant to have tham there at the state tournament. They stuck it out for 3 long days. The rest of our family also came to watch, they were all there for the finals match and a few very close and wonderful friends- (you know who you are). It really meant the world to all of us to have your support. Thats what familys and freinds do!!!! THANKS SO MUCH. It was so crazy after Kalebs match everyone started leaving and I didnt get family and friend in pictures. Dang it. Well I have learned I will know what to do when Bransons there.

Friday Feb 12 2010 CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH

So Friday, what a day. I really felt good inside going into the championship match, kaleb had had a tremendous year in all areas, he has grow up alot in his wrestling and has had alot of confindence which is so needed in wreslting. I felt that even if he didnt win he had done a amazing job! (They are so not going to like that but Im the mom). Back to friday, so my only concern about this match was that for years Kaleb has beat this kid, he did beat Kaleb once in other years. But as for this year we wrestled him at the very start of the season and he beat Kaleb, we never got to see him again until the state tournament. So this made me nervous. But he we go. Kaleb had that confindence about him going into the match. Kaleb wrestled amazing and so incredibly smart. He won 4-2. My calm and collected kid showed his emotions on the mat with a very proud lifting of his arm, he ran over to his so very proud father for a very long and tearful hug. This is were i lost it, I have no pictures of this moment because I couldnt see in my camera for all the tears of joy. I have alway been very proud of both my boys but at that moment, it just over took me. A feeling I will never forget and cant even start to explain.
CONGRATULATIONS KALEB!!! All your hard work, dedication has payed off for you. I know you will always do good in life from what you have learned as a wrestler.

semi finals match

So the state tournament finally got under way. On Wednesday Kaleb started off great winning all of his matches. Ive never thought of myself as superstitious but Jed is very very superstitious. So I didnt want to talk to much about how things were going because I didnt want to jinx things, (crazy I know). There was so much on the line for Kaleb being a senior, also if he does win the title him and his father will be the first, father son dual to be state champs at SF High. No pressure right. So wednesday end on a high note we come back on thursday for our semi finals match and kaleb has a kid who is a freshman, very good wrestler. Kaleb has beat him all year so we know he is going to be coming hard at kaleb. Kaleb also knows how this works when he was a freshman he beat out the mighty senior. His words were I knew how that felt and I wasent going to let the tables turn on me. Well again we come out on top. So onto friday.

So kaleb had won region and now we go onto sectionals which is the entire lower section of the state, the upper part of the state was also having their sectionals. Kaleb did Awesome. He also won Sectionals.

Bitter Sweet Season

This has been a bitter sweet season, it being kalebs senior year. Im so incredibly proud of him. he started out this year with some major goals not that he hadent in the past but this year was differnt. He was so mentally focused and deteremind to meet his goals. As the mom thats awseome but also so hard because in wrestling anything can happen. Well Kaleb met his goals and MORE! Kaleb won region and recieved the OUTSTANDING WRESTLER AWARD. There is only 2 OW awards a lower weight and a upper weight these kids are also choosen by the coaches of all the teams in the region. What a honor.

Branson 2009-2010 season started off with a bump, breaking his 2 fingers the first day of practe. Well after 6 long weeks of healing, he came back with avengence. He was so ready to wrestle. He place 1st ot the Bee Hive Brawl, he only had 1 lost all season. That was more than he wanted.

Kaleb had his first tournament of the year. It was the Layton Invitional, at Lyton High school it was a 26 team tournament so it was hugh. They had 32 man brackets. This tournament was some of the best 4-5A teams in Utah. Kaleb had a great tournament. He took 5th. Its only going up from here. Way to go bud!

Well I had no idea I had a true swimmer in my family. Although I shouldnt be surprised kaleb has always loved to swim. I think he swims the most at my moms. Well this year he has a advanced conditioning class at school, the swim team happens to be in this class, so kaleb started swimming with them just for excersize to get ready for wrestling season. The swim coach had other ideas, anyway he has been swimming with the team and has done great. He has really enjoyed it. I wish we would have done this since he was a freshman. He looks better than he ever has he is in excellent shape (cardo) so it has helped his wrestling a ton.

We had Kalbes senior pictures taken recently. They turned out great. Good looking kid. (Proud MOM) I truely cant believe his a senior. It breaks my heart to think he's going to be going away to college,but I am very proud of him. He has worked very hard to be able to go to a great college, which ever he chooses.

Me and my boys and my mom went to California. It was to have been my entire family but things changed at the last minute so just the 4 of us went. We had a blast we did Disneyland, California Adventure, and Universal Studios. My mom was a real trooper but we really wore her out. Disney was great the boys had been twice but its been quite a few years in between visits so this one was really fun.

Yesterday was my birthday so my boys took me to Sundance for brunch. The food was amazing the atmosphere is awesome. The mountains were so beautiful even though it was cold and rainey and a little snowey. We went for a drive to see all the fall colors. They are so beautiful this year. Jed got this 4 point the same night Branson got his. So it was a very busy night. Kaleb's luck wasent as good, he turned down several 2 point because he was looking for MR. Big.. He will still hunt for deer and now elk also. They will all start hunting ELK. Any body want meat please please call me. :)

The boys went on their annual bow hunt. Although this was only Branson's 2nd year. They had some what good luck Branson shot this 3 point out of his tree stand (All By himself. He was a little nervous and VERY EXCITED!. He said he was shakeing so bad he had to take a big deep breath then he made the shot!! Way to go Branson.

July 4th Archs

We went to Moab over the 4th of July. We have been every where in Utah hiking and have never been to the Archs-crazy I know. We had a blast we hiked the entire park. UNBELIEVABLE. It is so beautiful. We happened to go the hottest time of year 95-100 But it was worth it. I want to go back again sometime to float the Colorado River, that looks like fun.

Branson wrestled at Western Regoinals in Poctello Idaho, He took 2nd in Grecco and
3rd in Folk Style. He was wrestling freestlye and got hurt he tore the ligaments between his ribs, a injury he has battled since a tournament in Reno NV. He had a amazing tournament. We are so very proud. He went on to Nationals which were held in Utah Yeah. He placed 4TH. That makes him a ALL AMERICAN 4Th place in the Nation.. WOW!! He wrestled 36 matches in a week and a half.

Kaleb has been involved in Student Council since his freshman year. Well you would know it, it was time for Stubent Body Officer Elections while he was gone to DC!!!! He had to get his essay, posters and video done before he left. That was crazy. Well while he was gone they made the first cut from 25 to 12 and he made it YEAh. Texting is a great thing all his freinds at school kept us posted. He returned from DC on easter sunday so he had 2 days left to campaign or bribe his class mates:). Tuesday came and he made the top 6 Yeah again. This next week they will be interviewed and vote amongest the 6 of them to see who gets what position. GOOD LUCK KALEB!

Kaleb was nominated by his history teacher at school to go to the National Youth Leadership Conference held in DC. We were so excited that was last fall, the confernce seemed like for ever away. But as you know time flys and before I new it I was sending my 16 almost 17 year old son across the country(By himself). GULP! No other kids from his school were able to go. So off he went. Of course he loved it. Kaleb is my BIG city kid, the bigger the better for him. The conference was so much fun they were taught about leadership and goverment, the had alot of speakers who had amazing stories to tell them. They got to tour DC they saw Capitol building, all the memorials, the Smithsonian. The met with our states congressmen. (Utahs were all away-DARN). He met alot of new friends from around the country. What a experience, I know he has memories he'll never forget. A trip of a life time.

No I havent fallen off the face of the earth but almost. I almost forgot how to blog its been so long but after you I catch up on my last few months it all make since. Where do I start. As I mentioned before WRESTLING is a major part of our lifes and Its also during the busy time of the year. Kalebs season had a few bumps. He sarted off weighting 130 and was on the right track but during the Christmas break he started to grow and gained 15-19 pounds. Thats a major problem for wrestlers. So he had to jump up to the weight above 135. So after a major adjustments he was off any running. Kaleb season record was 39 wins-8 loses. Thats pretty awesome. He won the 5A Regoin tournament and placed at all the tournaments his team went to. He place 4th in the State tournament which was awesome. He went to the Rocky Mountain National Tournament and places 5th (In the 18 and under division). We are so proud of him.
Branson season was also amazing his record was 55wins-12loses. He went to 7 YES 7 National Tournaments. We took him to Fresco Calforina, Denver Co twice, Reno Nv, Phoenix AZ, and two Utah tournaments. That was a great learning experience for Branson. He placed any where from 1st to 6th. Branson won the Junior High State Tornament for the 3rd year in a row. We couldnt be more proud of his amazing work ethic and his dedication to the sport he is so passionate about.
